A mid-sized tortoise with a dark carapace and some red and yellow highlights, the Red-Footed Tortoise is a popular pet and (in its native range in South America) a conveniently slow source of food, both of which have contributed to the species being considered vulnerable. You can keep up to eight of these colorful chelonians in a single jungle enclosure.
When you purchase 200 Diamonds² or more, you'll even get a breeding pair of Red-Footed Tortoises (or Tokay Geckos)!

When purchasing 1000 Diamonds³ or more, you'll have the option to choose one Lady Amherst's Pheasant or one Zoo Vistor Dory NPC (or the previous option, the Common Vampire Bat) instead of the Red-Footed Tortoises or Tokay Geckos.
Named after naturalist Sarah Amherst, Lady Amherst's Pheasant is native to India, but was introduced to England on the Lady's estate. While the population there was believed to be extinct, there are still occasional rare sightings in Britain. You can keep up to ten of these show game birds in a single forest enclosure.
One of the very first visitors in the zoo, Dory has been thrilled about all the additions made to the zoo - some of the animals were even her own suggestions! As an NPC, she continue exploring your zoo and give you a gift of experience points, Coins, or random puzzle pieces from time to time. Simply click on the pin that appears over her head to collect it!
* NOTE: The Tokay Gecko and Common Vampire Bat are nocturnal animals; if you select these options, you will only see them in your inventory while you are in the Nocturnal House (available at level 80 and up!).
