These quill-covered rodents will feel at home in forest enclosures where they can be kept in groups of eight! Contrary to folk belief, porcupines don't "shoot" quills - they just stand them up so they come loose more easily when predators get too curious or they thwack them with their tails. Being covered in spines isn't completely risk-free for the critter itself either - especially when they fall out of trees in pursuit of sweet buds and tender twigs - but they have antibiotics in their skin to prevent infection when they get stuck with their own quills!

With a purchase of 200 Diamonds* or more, you'll even receive two Canadian Porcupines!
 

With a purchase of 1000 Diamonds*** or more, you can opt to receive one VIP animal - the Nile Monitor - instead!

Africa's longest lizard, the powerfully-built Nile Monitor is a capable predator. It's well-suited to an aquatic lifestyle, but can also climb exceptionally well and run fast in pusuit of prey! In your zoo, it will feel at home in grassland enclosures, where it can be kept in groups of six.
