Twinkle Twinkle, Little 'Saur...

What's that glittering in your zoo? Are you lucky enough to breed one of the new sparkling animals?

Lizzie Ryan is an expert on the field of dinosaur breeding, and has long known that later generations seem to have increased health and vigor. But lately, she's discovered a rare phenomenon: every once in a while, an animal will be born that's so exceptionally healthy, that it literally sparkles with vitality!

It is now possible (albeit EXTREMELY RARE) for breedings to result in sparkling animals - unique animals that glow blueglitter, and are born at level 40.

The only way to obtain these elusive eyecatchers is through breeding - they cannot be purchased or acquired by other means. Consecutive successful breedings - a so-called breeding streak - will increase the chance to obtain a sparkling animal slightly. This bonus caps out at a streak of ten, and even then, sparkling animals will be very, very rare. Failed breedings within a species will reset that species' breeding streak.

Sparkling animals will always be level 40, a level that cannot normally be achieved through breeding. The maximum level for animals through breeding remains level 20. If you breed a sparkling animal with a lower level animal, its offspring will be level 20. The offspring of a sparkling animal is no likelier to be sparkle than a breeding with regular animals. In the event of twins or triplets, each animal has its own chance to be a sparkling animal.

Along with sparkling animals, we're introducing one more breeding-related change: the cost of fertility feed is now capped at 199 Ammonites for a single breeding!
